Some posts ago I said I will try to give you more info on this upcoming Wii Fit game Punch-Out. When checking around I found a nice interview with one of the Punch-Out producers Ken Yeelroy. He said some interesting things about this upcoming balance board supported game.
What I found most interesting that in this game there will be utilization mainly of old school characters. Interesting is also that there was no new game for 15 years from Punch-Out series, remember the Super Punch-Out for SNES? Why the series skipped the N64 and Game Cube? More info on full interview…
Here is a nice quote of interviewer:
“I think when we looked at the Wii Remote, it isn’t about freely punching. You’re not going to beat the game that way. Surely, you might be able to get through a couple of fighters that way, but you quickly have to learn things. Like the original Punch-Out, they start to do things and you have to learn how to use the other moves—the dodging and the ducking and all of those kinds of things.”
